Omarosa Manigault-Newman vehemently denied that she was escorted out of the White House by secret service during an interview yesterday and claimed she resigned just as the White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said. But CBS News has now confirmed that she was truly kicked out.
During an interview on Good Morning America, Omarosa slammed CNN contributor April Ryan for saying she was kicked out of the White House. The former Apprentice contestant said Ryan made up the story because she has a personal vendetta against her. But most viewers did not believe Omarosa’s story and pointed out that her body language was that of one who is lying.
After the story of Omarosa’s humiliating exit from the White House emerged, the U.S. Secret Service tweeted that they were not involved in the termination of Omarosa or the escort off of the complex but they did not say she wasn’t escorted off. They simply said they were not involved in it.
CBS News reports Omarosa was thrown out but it is unclear who did the escorting. Below is how CBS reported it:
Former ‘Apprentice’ reality star Omarosa Manigault Newman was escorted from the White House after she protested the terms of her firing from Chief of Staff John Kelly, eventually proceeded to the White House residence and tripped alarms, CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Major Garrett reports.
Manigault Newman, who had a somewhat tumultuous tenure in the White House, was fired by Kelly on Tuesday, Garrett reports. Kelly gave her until Jan. 20 to leave. But Newman did not like those terms and tried to renegotiate. Kelly said no. So, she appealed to Ivanka Trump, the president’s daughter, but she took no action.
Newman then found her way to the White House residence, where she tripped the alarms. Kelly became angry, and had her escorted from the building. It is unclear who did the escorting.
